The truth is that everything single thing we do every day has an impact on the planet -- good or bad. The good news is that each and every one of us has the power to control most of our choices and, therefore, the impact you create: From where we live to what we buy, eat, and use to light our home. To where and how we vacate, to how we shop or vote - we can all have a global impact. Embracing a greener lifestyle isn't just about helping to preserve equatorial rain forests, it can also mean improving our health, and ultimately, improving our overall quality of life. Why wouldn't anyone want to go green? Our
planet is in trouble! Almost every day we seem to hear of yet another problem
affecting the environment - and what a list of problems! - pollution, acid
rain, extreme weather conditions and natural disasters, global warming, the destruction of rainforests and other wild habitats,
the decline and extinction of thousands of species of animals and plants....and
so on. We must learn to live in a sustainable way i.e. learn to use our natural resources which include air, freshwater, forests, wildlife, farmland and ocean without damaging them. As populations expand and lifestyles change, we must keep the world in good condition so that future generations will have the same natural resources that we have. |

Going
Green Services took part in Earth Day this year. We were a sponsor on
Channel 4's Better Nashville show during Earth Day week of 15-18th April
2009, and we volunteered at the Earth Day Festival in Nashville, TN. ---------------------------------------------------------------------
Earth Day was celebrated by thousands across Nashville,
TN
this year, with many learning about ways to be greener and others doing their part to support our local ecosystem.
Earth Hour
was a huge success in 2009
If you participated in Earth Hour, thank you, your
participation made that success possible. As
the lights fade in Honolulu bringing to a close Earth Hour’s roll out
across 25 time zones in over 4,000 cities and towns in 88 countries,
hundreds of millions of people have “voted earth” in the world’s
largest demonstration of public concern about climate change.
