All of my life I have had a passion for animals and they adore me. I grew up on a farm with many animals - 8 cats, 1 dog, 2 deer, 1 pig, many pet sheep, 1 possum, 1 beautiful horse and many more.

When I lived in Australia I had a blue tongue lizard that hung around my house and came inside. He was as long as my arm, he never hurt me and i never hurt him.

I have supported many charities in my life and a majority are for animals - WWF, ASPCA, Seeing Eye Dogs, Australia Zoo etc.

I admired Steve Irwin for all he did to help the animal community and wildlife. It was a sad day for all animals the day he left.

I now have two beautiful furry children which I have rescued from various places.
First is TP my 17 year adorable cat. The moment I saw her when she was just 6 weeks old and fit in my hand, I knew she was my little angel. She may be old now but still acts like a kitten most times, she thinks the laptop is for her to lie on, prefers dogs to cats and loves me with all her heart. We hate to be apart.

The other is the new addition, Isabella. A beautiful white greyhound x with staffy and just loves life and her life with me.

Now is the time I want to help animals & creatures great and small. I am starting off small by offering pet minding but hope to expand in the future.

How to be Green with your pets

Pet owners can reduce, reuse, and recycle

There are simple things you can do, that are better for the environment.  Here's a list:

• Reuse plastic grocery bags as pooper scoopers. Be a responsible pet owner and pick up after your pet.
• Choose a biodegradable cat litter or one that is made from recycled products.
• Recycle as much packaging as you can or choose pet products with little or no packaging.
• Reuse old fish tank water around your flower garden or to water your houseplants. Don't waste it by flushing it down the drain.
• Reuse the old water from your pet's water bowl for your plants too.
• Recycle old bath towels by donating them to a local animal shelter or rescue group.
